Meet Katie
At AnthroTrance, we combine the powerful insights of anthropology, psychology, and metaphysical sciences to create a unique approach to hypnotherapy and mind management. Our expertise in these fields allows us to understand human behavior from multiple angles—considering both cultural and individual factors—while also tapping into the deeper, often overlooked aspects of the mind and body.
Our neurodivergent founder, Dr. Katie Keene-Montgomery (CH and CSLC) comes equipped with a non-secular Ph.D. in Metaphysical Cultural Anthropology and a secular Ph.D. (ABD) in I/O Psychology, in addition to a Master’s Degree in the same field. She also possesses a certification in hypnosis and hypnotherapy (CH) that is recognized by the International Association of Therapists (IAOTH- UK), and she aligns her ethics with those of the American Association for Drugless Practitioners. She has additional training in brainspotting (bsp) and somatic healing for trauma-informed care that complements her hypnotherapy services. She recently completed her certification as an “Ikigai” coach, helping clients discover their life’s purpose through the Japanese philosophy of Ikigai.
She has an undergraduate degree in anthropology, where she focused her studies on identifying the dead and the cultural influence on perceptions of death and dying. She has a soft spot in her heart for anthropology and the metaphysical sciences.
Katie enjoys publishing her work, both academic and non-academic. She is a contributor and writer for Hypnozine, a Mind & Body magazine, which consists of articles related to “Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy Topics, Psychology, Personal Development, Mind, Body, Yoga, Spirituality and General Healthcare.”
Her multi-faceted background helps her guide clients through transformative journeys that honor the complexities of their experiences, whether they are seeking relief from anxiety, a break from negative cycles, exploring a creative process, or a path to their highest potential.
With a foundation in metaphysical anthropology, she blends science and the arts to help clients embrace lasting change and uncover the best version of themselves.
